Lawrence Hayward

Lawrence Hayward , known simply as Lawrence, is a singer, songwriter and guitarist known as the frontman in the British alternative rock bands Felt, Denim and Go Kart Mozart. He has never used his surname in credits or press for his work.

He was born in Birmingham though moved as a child to Water Orton, a village close to the small north Warwickshire town of Coleshill, east of Birmingham. Early on he was heavily influenced by Tom Verlaine of Television in both his guitarplaying and his idiosyncratic vocals. He now lives close to Londons Old Street roundabout.
